My work represents
my life. Forced to seek the meaning and purpose
of my life and simplify my world, I found what is
most important to me. My life is about being a mother
and an independent woman. My job is to be a role
model, to provide a safe warm place to live, and
to protect the innocence of my children from an
unforgiving world. I struggle to meet my own expectations
to set the example, but I do it with pride. In this
life I have created for myself my name is Mommy,
and that is who I was born to be. This is what my
work portrays.
The majority of my work is in silver using gold
and various stones for contrast. I want my work
to be warm, inviting and comfortable. I make objects
that draw you closer in. I have chosen to use pearls
and Angora rabbit hair to symbolize fragility and
warmth and diamonds to symbolize strength.
